Our hydrologic model has been recalibrated to reflect the current behavior of Brays Bayou in high water situations.

The estimates shown here are based on the Level II product of the KHGX NEXRAD radar station, and represent average flow over the Upper, Middle, and Lower Reaches and the entire Brays Bayou watershed. The Level II radar estimates total rainfall for each reach as a spatial average of the rainfall estimates for each of the approximately 1 km x 1 km grid cells that fall within that reach. The grid cells can be seen on the current radar images during a storm event. Only the cells that fall within the Brays Bayou watershed boundary (also on the image) are used in these tables.

VFLO estimates are a product of Vieux and Associates, Incorporated. HEC1 estimates are computed by Rice University.

Observed flows graphed above are obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey NWIS Web.
